Job summary

Dematic is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Supervisor who will lead installation quality on diverse customer projects nationwide. The role requires extensive travel to customer locations, with on-site safety leadership and hands-on supervision of subcontractors and equipment trials.

The candidate will ensure adherence to Dematic standards, coordinate schedules, and provide timely reports to the project manager while training labor teams.

Qualifications

• Ten years of troubleshooting electromechanical equipment experience.
• Experience with AGVS, AS/RS, or conveyors is helpful.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure installation quality on the project site including manufacturing and subcontractor quality.
• Maintain quality checklists and submit Corrective Actions when discrepancies are found.
• Oversee on-site safety, including safety audits.
• Assist with routine equipment trials to ensure specifications and Dematic standards are met.
• Provide on-site reporting on schedule and resources to project manager or customer.
• Train contract labor and subcontractors in installation of Dematic equipment.
• Write concise trip reports within required time frames.
• Identify problems and outline actionable steps to resolve them.
• Travel up to 100% and be on call as needed.
• Move and operate on large construction sites across climates.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $88,000 - $95,000 a year at the time of posting.

Finalcompensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education,experience, knowledge, and skills

Tasks and Qualifications:

What you will do in this role:

• Responsible for installation quality on the project site, including manufacturing and subcontractor quality.
• Responsible for quality checklists and submittal of Corrective Actions when discrepancies are identified.
• Responsible for on-site safety, including but not limited to safety audits.
• Assists with routine equipment trial runs to ensure that it meets specifications and assures that equipment is installed to Dematic standards.
• Provides on-site reporting on schedule and resources to the project manager and/or customer.
• Assists with the training of contract labor and subcontractors in the installation of Dematic and other material handling equipment.
• Writes concise, clear, and complete trip reports in the time frame required according to Dematic procedures.
• Identifies problems as they occur and suggests appropriate steps to tackle them in situations where the problem is not difficult or sophisticated.
• Must be able to travel on short notice and spend up to 100% of the time traveling. Should be prepared to be on call and travel as needed.
• Push, pull, crawl, squat, and walk around large construction sites in various climates and conditions.

What We Are Looking For:

• Ten years (minimum) experience in troubleshooting electromechanical equipment.
• Service experience with AGVS, AS/RS, or conveyors is helpful.
• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required. Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience with quality assurance.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and off shifts - offer OT compensation.
• Must know the use of personal computers, database functions, and communications.
• Understanding personal computer hardware setup and software configuration required.
