Job summary

Morgner Construction Management Corp. seeks a Mechanical Inspector to join its Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division for Capital Improvement Program projects at Los Angeles International Airport.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspector certification.
• 3+ years of mechanical inspection experience.
• Willingness to work various shifts.
• Knowledge of CBC & CMC codes.
• Experience inspecting large-scale facilities.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction of a wide variety of airport improvements and utilities projects to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, contracts, permits, environmental documents, and agreements of work.
• Conduct comprehensive daily inspections of mechanical and plumbing systems across building and terminal construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project specifications.
• Prepare comprehensive daily inspection reports documenting the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and HOW of all observed activities.
• Verify contractor compliance with local and national mechanical and plumbing codes, and LAWA-specific standards.
• Track and document time-and-material work, field changes, and job quantities.
• Assist in validating contractor progress payment requests based on approved schedules of values.
• Support special inspections and testing activities, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and third-party agencies as needed.
