Job summary

PeopleShare by PROMAN in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Machine Shop Operator. Schedule: M-F 6:30am - 3pm. Pay: $17.50 per hour. Location: Chesapeake. You will set up and operate manual and semi-automatic machines for deburring, cleaning, preserving, and packaging machined components.

You will assemble simple subassemblies, assist in maintaining shop equipment, read orders, verify dimensions with tape measures and calipers, document actions, follow SOPs, and help with 5S and general shop upkeep.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Requires at least 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate simple machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up & operate manual and semiautomatic machines for deburring, cleaning, preserving, and packaging machined components.
• Assemble simple subassemblies required by machine shop and assembly centers.
• Assist machine cells with general upkeep and 5S activities.
• Read and understand factory orders and shop schedules.
• Disassemble and assemble pins & rollers in Ring Gear Housing Assemblies as required by work orders.
• Setup, operate, and maintain deburring, engraving, washing, and rust prevention equipment.
• Verify dimensions using tape measure, calipers, and go/no-go gauges.
• Document actions by completing setup sheets and production/quality logs.
