Job summary

FM Industries in Livermore, CA is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist 2 to set-up and run repeat parts with minimal supervision. The weekend day shift runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00am to 4:15pm, with 12-hour shifts and overtime after 8 hours plus a 15% shift differential.

Minimum 3–5 years of CNC machining experience, knowledge of CNC programming and G&M code, and strong inspection practices are required. Apprenticeship or vocational training is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ work experience in CNC machining
• Enrolled in or vocational education or 4 years formal apprenticeship preferred
• Knowledge of CNC programming and G&M code
• Extensive knowledge of inspection practices
• Ability to operate computer numerical control machines and read blueprints

Responsibilities

• Handle DNC communications upload/download of tool programs
• Inspect and measure parts to ensure quality

THIS POSITION IS FOR WEEKENDS DAY SHIFT Friday, Saturday & Sunday 4:00am-4:15pm

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a CNC Lathe Machinist 2, you will set-up and run repeat or proven part(s) with simple to high complexity with minimal direction from area Lead or Supervisor

• Responsible for utilizing shop paper procedure including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities.
• Responsible for DNC communications upload and download tool program
• Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistic
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ work experience
• Enrolled in or vocational education or 4 years formal apprenticeship preferred.
• Knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code
• Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices
• Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines
