Overview

Industry: Aerospace/Defense

Position: Mechanical Inspector

Location: Tempe, AZ

Shift: Swing/Second (12:30pm-9:00pm)

Duration: 90-100 Days

Frequency: 40 Hrs per week with potential OT - 1099

Pay Range $22-$32 per hour

Job Description: The quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub‑assemblies. Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct tests, inspections, audits, and validations to ensure process compliance with contracts, customer requirements, and specifications for design, engineering, products, equipment, maintenance, and services.
  • Validate that certification/calibration for operators and special processes is current.
  • Conduct inspections, evaluations, and/or surveillance of vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Use and care for inspection tools, measuring, and test equipment.
  • Conduct sampling inspections in accordance with approved plans and procedures.
  • Participate in root‑cause analysis.
  • Conduct follow‑up audits to review the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
  • Collect and use statistical data for the monitoring and evaluation of trends.
  • Provide training and tutoring to other inspection personnel.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure inclusion of quality requirements.
  • Provide activity and status reports to management.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required plus 3 years of experience.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass a Skills Checklist.
  • U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.
  • Full understanding of the quality system; understanding of quality processes.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret prints/drawings and other technical documents that describe the system and processes.
  • Ability to use most inspection tools, measuring, and test equipment.
  • Trained in the use of TQ tools.
  • Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Must pass Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T) test.
