Overview

We’re seeking a Fixed Equipment Inspector to support the mechanical integrity and reliability of process equipment across multiple facilities. This role ensures that tanks, piping, and pressure vessels are inspected, maintained, and documented according to all applicable codes and standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset toward safety and compliance. This position offers an opportunity to make a direct impact on operational reliability and equipment performance while working with a collaborative, field-based inspection team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled inspections of fixed equipment including piping systems, pressure vessels, and aboveground storage tanks in accordance with relevant codes and company standards.
  • Identify, document, and report any deficiencies or mechanical integrity concerns, coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams to address corrective actions.
  • Enter and manage inspection data within the facility’s integrity management database, ensuring accurate tracking of inspection history, test results, and repair records.
  • Assist in planning and executing inspection scopes during turnarounds and outages.
  • Maintain calibration and readiness of inspection tools and equipment.
  • Participate in site meetings and provide updates on inspection activities and integrity status.
  • Prepare concise technical reports with clear recommendations and follow-up requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in inspection planning, risk‑based inspection (RBI), and condition monitoring strategies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inspection, non‑destructive testing (NDT), or related maintenance and reliability disciplines within industrial, refining, or manufacturing environments.
  • API 510 (Pressure Vessel), API 570 (Piping), and API 653 (Aboveground Storage Tank) certifications preferred.
  • Level II certification in Ultrasonic (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Penetrant Testing (PT) required or ability to achieve certification within one year.
  • Level III NDE certification highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of inspection codes, standards, and practices related to pressure equipment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, and other technical schematics.
  • Competence with inspection management software (e.g., PCMS or similar systems).
  • Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and technical writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple facilities as required.
