Job summary

Karman Space & Defense in Corona, CA is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to perform precise mechanical and visual inspections, interpret engineering data, and document conformance. You will collaborate with manufacturing, program management, and customer source inspectors to verify requirements and resolve quality issues.

The role requires a high school diploma, experience with calipers, micrometers and laser trackers, and the ability to read blueprints.

Mechanical Inspector

Salary Range: $22.00 To $26.00 Hourly

As a Mechanical Inspector, you support product quality and safety by performing precise mechanical and visual inspections, interpreting engineering data, and documenting conformance. You collaborate closely with manufacturing, program management, and customer source inspectors to verify requirements and resolve quality issues. Your work helps maintain an organized inspection environment, uphold quality procedures, and ensure components and assemblies meet critical mission standards.

Required Qualifications

• Experience inspecting machined parts and assemblies using tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Experience inspecting machined parts and assemblies using laser tracker equipment.
• Experience working with customer source inspectors.
• Ability to interpret blueprints accurately.
• Experience using hand inspection tools.
• Knowledge of customer requirements and specifications.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with internal customers, customer representatives, and all levels of management.

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing, walking, or sitting for at least 8 hours.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs.
• Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
• Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less; corrective lenses may be worn.
• Prolonged periods of repetitive movement.
• Constant holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands.
• Occasionally reaching overhead, at shoulder level, and below shoulder level.
