Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is hiring a Quality Inspector for 2nd shift (4:00pm - 12:30am) in Huntington Beach, CA. You will review, verify, and inspect precision products and documentation, ensuring conformance to ISO 9001 & AS9100 and government regulations.

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 and AS9100 standards.
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred; aerospace background is a plus.
  • Experience with composite and metallic structures is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples.
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on data release.
  • Perform visual inspections of finished and unfinished products.
  • Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures; including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms.
  • Calibrate, validate, or maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions.
  • Receive and inspect raw materials.
  • Investigate or report questionable test results.
  • Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
  • Identify quality problems and recommend solutions.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the quality control manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections of finished and unfinished products.

Education & Experience
  • Excellent oral and written comprehension.

  • Well versed in ISO: 9000 and AS9100.

  • Ability to read, speak and write in English.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

No travel required for this position.

This role is for 2nd shift, 4:00pm - 12:30am
Shift Differential

+ $1.00

Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing/walking/sitting for at least 8 hours.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs.
  • Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less. Corrective lenses may be worn to fulfill requirement.
  • Prolonged periods of repetitive movement are required.
  • Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s).
  • Occasional extending of arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level and below shoulder level.
