Job summary

Tropic Kool Mechanical, a Fidelity Company, is expanding our team in the Largo, FL area and seeks an experienced HVAC/Pipefitter Foreman to lead field operations across the Tampa Bay area.

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial HVAC and pipefitting experience, a hands-on leadership style, and a proven ability to mentor apprentices while delivering quality workmanship on schedule and within code requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC, pipefitting, welding, or mechanical construction experience.
• Proven ability to lead a crew and own a project from start to finish.
• Strong reading of blueprints and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a crew of pipefitters, welders, apprentices, and other trades.
• Coordinate installation of commercial HVAC piping and systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and piping plans.
• Lay out and install piping and equipment accurately and efficiently.
• Oversee pipefitting, welding, brazing, and related mechanical work.
• Ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance on site.

Tropic Kool Mechanical has built a reputation for delivering high-quality commercial mechanical services to our customers. We are looking for an experiencedHVAC/Pipefitter Foreman to join our team and help lead our field operations throughout the Tampa Bay area.

CAN YOU...

• Supervise and lead a crew of pipefitters, welders, apprentices, and other mechanical tradespeople?
• Coordinate and perform the installation of commercial HVAC piping and mechanical systems?
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and piping plans?
• Lay out piping and equipment installations accurately and efficiently?
• Perform and oversee pipefitting, welding, brazing, and related mechanical work as needed?
• Troubleshoot field issues and develop practical solutions to keep projects moving?
• Coordinate daily work activities with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and other trades?
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and applicable codes?
• Monitor jobsite materials, tools, and equipment to help keep the project on schedule?
• Maintain accurate daily reports, time records, material usage, and project updates?
• Train, mentor, and develop apprentices and less‑experienced team members?
• Maintain high standards for workmanship, cleanliness, safety, and overall jobsite organization?

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC, pipefitting, welding, or mechanical construction experience.
• Previous experience as a Foreman, Lead Pipefitter, Lead Mechanic, or similar leadership role preferred.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, mechanical piping, and installation practices.
• Experience with chilled water piping, HVAC equipment, pumps, valves, and related mechanical systems preferred.
• Strong pipefitting and/or welding skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and project plans.
