This role is responsible for leading a mechanical crew in the installation of process piping, mechanical equipment, and related systems. The Mechanical Foreman works hands-on with the crew while directing daily operations to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements.
The Mechanical Foreman plays a key role in delivering self-perform mechanical scopes by coordinating crew activities, maintaining quality standards, and working closely with Superintendents and project leadership.

Lead daily mechanical crew operations and set clear expectations for work activities
Supervise pipefitters and laborers to ensure efficient execution
Work alongside the crew during critical installations and complex tasks
Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce OSHA and MEB safety standards
Monitor jobsite conditions and correct unsafe behaviors or hazards
Maintain required certifications (OSHA 30, Confined Space, Rigging & Signaling, Trenching & Excavation)
Execute assigned scope in alignment with the project schedule
Coordinate with Mechanical Superintendents on daily and weekly work plans
Support look-ahead planning and sequencing of mechanical activities
Lead installation of piping systems including ductile iron, PVC, HDPE, stainless steel, and steel
Oversee installation of mechanical and process equipment
Ensure work is completed efficiently and meets production targets
Coordinate delivery, inspection, and storage of mechanical materials and equipment
Monitor use and condition of tools and equipment
Coordinate mobilization, demobilization, and equipment needs
Ensure installations meet project specifications and quality standards
Track production and document progress
Coordinate inspections and correct deficiencies as needed
Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals
Identify constructability issues and communicate with project leadership
Report risks, conflicts, or material issues impacting work
3+ years of experience in mechanical or process piping installation
Experience leading or directing a crew in the field
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and installation methods
Experience in heavy civil or water/wastewater construction
Experience with process piping and equipment installation
Previous foreman or lead role experience
Physical work required, including lifting, rigging, and working around mechanical systems
Daily coordination with crew members, field leadership, and subcontractors
This role is best suited for someone currently working as a lead pipefitter who is ready to take ownership of a crew, production, and mechanical scope execution.
