Job summary

TDIndustries, Inc. is seeking an Estimator to join our preconstruction team in Texas. You will review drawings, develop cost estimates for HVAC, piping, and process systems, and coordinate with subcontractors to assemble competitive proposals.

You’ll track scope changes, support value engineering, and help transition projects to operations. As part of a premier MEP firm, you’ll work under Senior Estimators, using Excel and Bluebeam, with a focus on accuracy, schedule, and cost control.

Qualifications

• 0–5 years of experience in mechanical estimating or related construction roles.
• Foundational knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and process systems.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify cost impacts.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to learn estimating processes, takeoff methods, and cost control principles.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and RFP documents to understand scope and inputs.
• Track addenda, scope changes, and bid form updates.
• Develop specification summaries and assist with take-offs using internal tools and standards.
• Solicit, receive, and compare supplier and subcontractor proposals.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates (HVAC, piping, process) using quotes and data.
• Participate in value-engineering discussions and support proposal development.
• Assist with estimate reviews and scope alignment meetings.
• Organize estimate files and track opportunities.
