Michael Page is recruiting a Mechanical Estimator for Manhattan, NY to support public infrastructure and utility projects. You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, and price bids while coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive numbers.

The role offers exposure to large-scale power generation and HVAC systems, with opportunities to learn from senior estimators and contribute to bid-winning strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Experience estimating mechanical and plumbing systems in heavy industrial contexts.
• Knowledge of bidding processes, subcontractor quotes, and value engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and piping systems and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs, and bidding documents to understand project scope.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and assess conditions for estimates.
• Develop relationships with subcontractors and vendors for qualified partners.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for coverage.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, material, and equipment.
• Develop labor productivity estimates, equipment costs, and project pricing.
• Prepare bid packages, proposals, qualifications, and related docs.
• Assist with constructability reviews, value engineering, and budgeting.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
