Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to prepare preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates, and detailed estimates for small to mid-size projects. You'll analyze drawings, perform material take-offs, and price unit costs.

You will solicit subcontractor bids, track quantities, review RFPs, and present findings to internal teams. Strong communication, drafting, and Excel/estimating software skills are essential to succeed in this role at Southland Industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in construction management or engineering or related training.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical construction estimating experience.
• Strong ability to read specs and drawings and interpret cost data.
• Solid communication and analytical skills; proficient with Excel/Word.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings and perform material take-offs for estimates.
• Prepare preliminary budgets, conceptual and detailed estimates.
• Solicit subcontractor bids and obtain quotes from vendors.
• Review RFPs and Basis of Design to determine scope of work.
• Present information and respond to questions from internal teams.
