Total Comfort Group in Texas seeks a Mechanical Estimator (Commercial HVAC/R) to review and analyze proposals for HVAC, refrigeration, heating, and related mechanical work. You will ensure pricing accuracy, scope completeness, and cost-effective solutions for clients.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in HVAC/R estimating, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to identify cost savings while maintaining safety and standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of estimating experience within HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, or related trades.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC/R systems, heating equipment, controls, and mechanical components.
• Ability to identify pricing discrepancies, evaluate repair versus replacement options, and analyze costs.
• Proven ability to negotiate pricing and develop effective vendor relationships.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Estimator (Commercial HVAC/R) to review, analyze, and evaluate commercial HVAC, refrigeration, heating, and related mechanical repair and replacement proposals. This role works closely with technicians, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing, proper scope development, and cost-effective solutions for our clients.

The ideal candidate has strong HVAC/R industry knowledge, excellent analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining quality, safety, and industry best practices.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within commercial facilities maintenance, mechanical contracting, or service management environments.
• Understanding of electrical drives, lighting and heating systems, control panels, conduits, power distribution systems, and alarm/monitoring systems.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
• Experience reviewing service proposals, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
