Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to produce accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems on commercial, industrial, and ground-up construction projects in Denver, CO. You will review bid documents, perform take-offs for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP, and prepare pricing exhibits for proposals.

The role requires 3+ years of mechanical estimating experience, proficiency with Quickpen and Excel, and knowledge of design-build and traditional delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years mechanical estimating experience in HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP for commercial/industrial projects.
• Experience with take-offs, bid prep, pricing strategy, and preconstruction for design-build and traditional delivery.
• Proficient in Quickpen, digital take-off tools, and advanced Excel; Revit/AutoCAD a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review bid documents, plans, specs, and blueprints to define mechanical scope and flag risks/omissions.
• Perform quantity take-offs for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP systems using manual and digital methods.
• Prepare cost estimates, bid proposals, and pricing exhibits for commercial, industrial, and ground-up projects.
• Maintain unit pricing, assemblies, and historical cost databases for mechanical systems.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotes; develop bid packages and scopes of work.
• Coordinate with design, PM, operations, and field teams on scope clarification, value engineering, and constructability.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and walkthroughs to verify conditions.
• Use estimating software (Quickpen, take-off tools, spreadsheets) to produce accurate, auditable estimates.
• Prepare summary reports, bid narratives, and cost breakdowns for client and internal review.

• Proficient in Quickpen, digital take-off tools, and advanced Excel; Revit/AutoCAD a plus.
