MACOM in Hamilton, NJ is seeking an ME Technician to join the design team. You will create electrical and opto-mechanical drawings to support engineering and production.

You will develop complete manufacturing documentation packages, collaborate with engineers and suppliers, and maintain CAD drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD with exacting attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Competenze

• Formal drafting training completed (trade/tech school or equivalent).
• Minimum 1 year SolidWorks operator experience.
• SolidWorks 3D design and 2D drafting proficiency.
• AutoCAD experience, including conversions to SolidWorks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of drafting standards and best practices.
• Excellent attention to detail with quality focus.
• Basic understanding of electronic circuits; RF/optics knowledge a plus.

Job Title: ME Technician

We are hiring a technician to work with the Hamilton, NJ design team. Thetechnician will become an essential team player creating electrical and opto-mechanicaldrawings to support design engineering and production manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with experienced mechanical designers to createfull manufacturing documentation packages for complex electromechanical andopto-mechanical assemblies.
• Work with electrical engineers to generatedocumentation packages, such that electrical designs can be sent to manufacturing partners to produce.
• Interface with other departments within MACOM,manufacturing partners, and vendors to create realizable designs takingmanufacturing capabilities into consideration.
• Creating accurate SolidWorks drawings from handsketches, verbal instructions.
• Generate engineering drawings for printed circuitboard designs and assembly prints.
• Working with design engineers, and sub-contractors, toproduce and alter drawings.
• Thinking creatively and critically to support theproject team in the design process, to create sketches and drawings.
• Manage sketches and drawings on our CAD server per anestablished structure.
• Exhaustively reviewing and checking sketches anddrawings for errors, before being sent to the design team.
• Seeking clarity and understanding from engineers whenyou are not 100% certain of provided instructions.
• Exceptional model and drawing accuracy.
• Design rule checking.
• Update design rules as required.
• Keeping up to date and maintainingpassion forthe latest advances in engineering documentation.
• Maintain product documentation and engineering changeorders.
• Advocate for Drafting as a function and corecompetency within the company.

Qualifications:

• Formal drafting trainin g, ex. vocational high schoolwith relevant trade, trade school, community college.
• Minimum 1-year experience in a SolidWorks Operatorrole.
• Outstanding fluency and skill within the SolidWorksprogram.
• Prior experience with SolidWorks 3D design and 2Ddrafting desirable.
• Experience with AutoCAD desirable, especiallyconversions of AutoCAD mechanical drawings to SolidWorks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledgeable in drafting standards and bestpractices.
• Incredible attention to detail with a focus onimpeccable quality.
• Basic understanding of electronic circuits.
• Prior experience with RF design, optics and opticalfiber design is a huge plus.
• Excellent time management skills to work with multipleprojects for multiple managers with competing deadlines.
• Effective communication, organization, anddocumentation skills.Strong interpersonal skills and ability tobuild long lasting partnerships. Ability to work in fast-pacedenvironment.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

The Salary Range for this position is $55,000-$80,000. Actual salaryoffered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limitedto, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specificknowledge, skills, and abilities.
