Indiana Tech invites applications for a full-time faculty member in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics and Smart Manufacturing to join the Talwar College of Engineering and Computer Sciences. This 12-month teaching faculty position offers an exciting opportunity to educate and mentor students while contributing to the continued growth of innovative engineering and technology programs. The successful candidate will possess expertise in multiple areas of mechanics, thermofluids, advanced manufacturing, robotics and automation, smart manufacturing systems, and emerging physical AI technologies. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach across multiple disciplines, including mechanical engineering, industrial and manufacturing engineering, mechatronics and robotics engineering, and mechanical engineering technology.

This position may be filled as either a tenure-track faculty appointment or at the Professor of Practice rank, depending on the qualifications, academic credentials, and professional experience of the selected candidate. Faculty members teach in both face-to-face and online formats and play a critical role in advancing engineering education through innovative teaching, curriculum development, and student engagement. Responsibilities include developing new academic programs, enhancing existing curricula, advising and mentoring students, supporting student recruitment and retention initiatives, collaborating with colleagues across disciplines, and contributing to continuous program improvement efforts. Faculty are also expected to maintain academic records to support accreditation activities, participate in ABET assessment and continuous improvement processes, utilize learning management systems and instructional technologies effectively, and support the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Indiana Tech.

Qualified candidates must possess a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field, with a terminal degree preferred. Candidates with experience developing hands-on laboratory experiences, workforce training programs, or applied engineering curricula are especially encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to individuals with a demonstrated record of interdisciplinary collaboration across mechanics, engineering design, manufacturing systems, automation, or robotics. Experience with Fanuc robotics platforms, Industry 4.0 technologies, smart manufacturing systems, digital automation, or SACA-aligned curriculum development is highly desirable. College-level teaching experience and online teaching experience are preferred. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills as well as a strong commitment to student success and applied learning.
