Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of mechanical product design or R&D experience.
• At least 2 years of experience as a people manager or leading teams.
• Experience in medical device product development or similar highly regulated environment.
• Hands-on engineering manager with a collaborative approach.
• Familiarity with all product development lifecycle phases.
• Strong CAD and analysis skills.
• Professional communication for leadership and cross-functional groups.
• Project management, planning, and change-management skills.
• Ability to lead and influence direct reports and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Staff development and performance coaching.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management and other functions to create roadmaps and project plans.
• Translate customer needs and business strategies into proposals and plans with senior management.
• Lead a team through all stages of development to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
• Ensure proper application of development processes and design controls.
• Guide design transfer to manufacturing and supplier engineering.
• Develop staffing plans, schedules, budgets, and goals for the team.
• Maintain documentation per Quality Management System (design outputs, FMEAs, reviews).
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers to sustain a capable team.
