Job summary

Direct Recruiters, Inc. is recruiting a Mechanical Engineering Manager for a Northeast Ohio custom automation and machine-design firm.

The role leads a team of about 10 mechanical engineers responsible for designing and developing sophisticated, custom automated machinery and special-purpose equipment. We seek a strong technical leader with hands-on design experience, capable of directing projects from concept through installation and collaborating with Controls, Manufacturing and Project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience with custom automated machinery or SPe.
• Advanced proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Ability to evaluate complex mechanical designs and guide other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
• Provide technical direction for custom automated machinery projects from concept through installation.
• Review designs, calculations, drawings, BOMs and component selections.
• Establish and improve engineering standards, design processes and reusable libraries.
• Collaborate with Controls, Manufacturing, Assembly and PM to ensure project execution.
• Manage resources, priorities, schedules and deliverables.
• Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, design quality and department performance.
• Foster a hands-on engineering culture focused on technical excellence.
