Job summary

Hexagon Autonomy & Positioning in Torrance, CA seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the mechanical design of rugged antenna products from concept to production. You will grow the team, set engineering priorities, and ensure designs meet performance, cost, and schedule targets.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Operations, and Quality to drive DFMs, environmental tests, and root-cause investigations while advancing best practices across Hexagon’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent four-year engineering degree.
• Minimum 10 years relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with CREO (Pro/Engineer) for mechanical design.
• Experience designing products for aerospace/defense industries.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and stackup analysis.
• Knowledge of robustness standards (MIL-STD-810, DO-160).
• ITAR/EAR eligibility as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the mechanical engineering team, including resource planning and mentoring.
• Own mechanical engineering execution for new product development, sustaining engineering, and continuous improvement.
• Design and analyze antenna products and components; create CREO models and drawings.
• Provide technical direction and design reviews ensuring performance, quality, cost, and schedule targets.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for mechanical issues.
• Oversee Engineering Change Orders and design updates.
• Drive Design for Manufacturing and continuous improvement across products.
• Lead environmental test planning, execution, analysis, and documentation.
• Support new business development through feasibility assessments and RFP responses.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Operations, Quality and customers to resolve issues.
