Job summary

NR Consulting is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing mechanical engineering team in San Francisco, overseeing development and manufacturing of electromechanical products.

You will act as the technical liaison between customers, cross-functional engineering groups, and global manufacturing operations to ensure successful product development, execution and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years engineering experience in a technical or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of complex mechanical assemblies and product development.
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, MIM, and plastics.
  • Knowledge of SPC, Cp/Cpk, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing quality.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong English communication, both written and verbal.

NR Consultingis currently seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Manager for an opportunity in San Francisco, CA – Onsite!

Position Title: Mechanical Engineering Manager

Anticipated Start Date: 08/17/2026.

Salary Range: $120K - $160K/Annum plus benefits

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing engineering team supporting the development and manufacturing of advanced electromechanical products. This individual will serve as a key technical liaison between customers, cross‑functional engineering teams, and global manufacturing operations, ensuring successful product development, execution and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, prioritize, and oversee engineering activities, project execution, and team deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customer engineering discussions and product development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, operations, manufacturing, quality and program management to drive project success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of complex mechanical assemblies and product development.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, metal injection molding (MIM) and plastic components.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability (Cp/Cpk), tolerance analysis and manufacturing quality principles.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and applying GD&T principles.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting high‑volume manufacturing or new product introduction (NPI).
  • Knowledge of automated manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Experience collaborating with global manufacturing teams.
  • International travel experience supporting engineering or manufacturing operations is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional and multicultural environment.
  • Additional language skills including Mandarin are considered a plus.
