Established EPC engineering firm seeking a technically strong Mechanical Engineering Department Manager to lead engineering teams supporting large-scale industrial projects across refining, petrochemical, oil and gas, mining and heavy industrial markets.

The ideal candidate combines hands‑on mechanical engineering expertise with proven department leadership, including technical oversight, engineering deliverables, resource planning and team development.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering teams across industrial EPC projects
• Oversee mechanical equipment design, specifications, calculations and technical deliverables
• Provide technical oversight for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors and piping systems
• Ensure engineering designs meet applicable ASME/API codes and industry standards

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of ASME/API codes and engineering standards
• Experience developing equipment specifications, calculations and technical deliverables
• Mechanical engineering team leadership and staff development
• Department resource planning, scheduling and engineering quality oversight
• Strong communication, organizational and multidisciplinary coordination skills

Highly Preferred

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Previous mechanical engineering department management or discipline leadership
• Extensive hands‑on EPC detailed engineering experience
• Experience with both static and rotating equipment
• Experience leading mechanical engineering teams across multiple industrial projects
