Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a creative Social Media Intern to support global social media and digital communications. You will craft content that highlights Aptiv’s innovations and supports campaigns, thought leadership, and events, blending strategy with hands-on creative work.

You'll develop graphics, edit videos, and design assets while translating complex technologies into engaging stories. This internship emphasizes collaboration, high-quality output, and learning across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and executing social content across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube.
• Support content planning and scheduling via management tools.
• Draft social copy aligned with Aptiv’s brand voice.
• Monitor trends to identify new content opportunities.
• Track performance and contribute to monthly analytics.
• Create engaging visual content communicating complex tech clearly.
• Develop graphics, infographics, and event assets.
• Edit short- and long-form videos for social and events.
• Create video highlights, reels, motion graphics, and event recap videos.
• Add captions, transitions, music, and on-screen branding.
• Assist filming interviews and event footage when needed.
• Optimize video formats for different platforms.
• Design platform-specific assets with Aptiv branding.
• Create carousel posts, banners, and campaign assets.
• Develop reusable templates for social and internal comms.
• Maintain high quality and consistency across materials.

Your Role

Aptiv is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and digitally savvy Social Media Intern to support our global social media and digital communications efforts. This role supports the creation of engaging content that showcases Aptiv's innovations and contributes to social media campaigns, executive thought leadership, event coverage, and multimedia content production. The position combines strategic social media execution with hands-on creative development, including graphic design, video editing, photography, and short-form content creation.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the development and execution of social media content across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
• Support content planning and scheduling through social media management tools.
• Draft social media copy aligned with Aptiv's brand voice and communications strategy.
• Monitor social media trends, conversations, and best practices to identify new content opportunities.
• Track content performance and contribute to monthly reporting and analytics reviews.
• Create engaging visual content that communicates complex technologies in a clear and compelling way.
• Develop graphics, infographics, quote cards, event assets, and social media visuals.
• Assist in the creation of content for product launches, awards, industry events, recruiting campaigns, and corporate initiatives.
• Research industry topics and help identify compelling storytelling opportunities.
• Edit short-form and long-form videos for social media, events, and executive communications.
• Create video highlights, reels, motion graphics, animated social assets, and event recap videos.
• Add captions, transitions, music, on-screen graphics, and branding elements to enhance engagement.
• Assist with filming interviews, event footage, and behind-the-scenes content when needed.
• Optimize video formats and specifications for different social media platforms.
• Design platform-specific assets that align with Aptiv's visual identity and brand standards.
• Create carousel posts, presentation visuals, event graphics, digital banners, and campaign assets.
• Develop templates that can be reused across social media channels and internal communications.
• Ensure all creative materials maintain a high level of quality, consistency, and accuracy.

YOUR BACKGROUND

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Multimedia, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms and digital communication trends.
• Ability to translate technical information into engaging visual and written content.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with one or more of the following design tools: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, Figma, or PowerPoint.
• Experience with one or more of the following video editing tools: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Familiarity with LinkedIn and B2B social media marketing.
• Familiarity with social media management tools and basic social media analytics and reporting.
• Familiarity with AI-powered content creation tools and digital marketing technologies.
• Portfolio demonstrating social media content, graphic design, video editing, photography, or other creative work showcasing storytelling and content creation skills.
