Job summary

RTX is seeking an intern to design structures and assemblies, perform detailed drafting per ASME Y14.5, and support development hardware procurement and testing in a hands-on aerospace environment. You will manage suppliers and coordinate across teams to mature designs quickly.

Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, entering Sophomore year by Summer 2027, and eligible for a U.S. government security clearance based on citizenship.

Qualifications You Must Have

• This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of Summer 2027.
• Must be pursuing as bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
• Experience with Creo modeling and drafting
• Experience with Windchill and configuration management

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
