WSP USA is offering a Mechanical Engineering Intern - Summer 2027 in Richmond, VA. The internship is full-time and located at our Richmond office, running as part of the Summer Internship Program.

The role targets students in undergraduate or graduate engineering programs for a 12-week session beginning May 17, 2027, with a flexible start date. Interns will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real projects while collaborating with senior staff.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.
• Demonstrated interest in Mechanical Engineering and ability to communicate to diverse audiences.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Mechanical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Assist in preparing final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to company policies including safety and conduct.
