Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer intern to join our Richardson, TX team onsite. You will assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical/electromechanical systems for military aircraft and transportable platforms, collaborating with Systems, Electrical, and Manufacturing Engineering staff.

You will gain experience in modeling components, performing analyses with SolidWorks and ANSYS, and executing tests under supervision.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM and actively enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
  • Experience with Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Experience with ANSYS or other mechanical analysis software.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.

Responsibilities

  • With technical supervision, apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems.
  • Work with engineers and designers to produce models for components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.

The Collins Aerospace Strategic Defense Solutions group is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer intern to join our team onsite in Richardson, TX! Our Mechanical Engineering intern participate in the design, development, and test of electronic equipment and integration kits for communication systems on military aircraft and transportable platforms. You will learn to work closely with fellow Mechanical Engineers as well as Systems, Electrical, and Manufacturing Engineering staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product’s lifecycle.

What You Will Do
  • With technical supervision, apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Experience with Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Experience with ANSYS or other mechanical analysis software.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
