RTX in McKinney, Texas invites a Mechanical Engineering Intern to contribute to the Airborne RF Sensor Design team. You will participate in mechanical design from concept through model/drawings and support build/testing with product engineers across disciplines.

Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical or related STEM, have CAD experience (SolidWorks/Creo/Fusion 360), and can obtain a U.S. security clearance (DoD Secret).

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering candidate to join our Airborne RF Sensor Design team in McKinney, Texas. As an Engineering intern the responsibilities may include any aspects of the mechanical design process from concept generation to model / drawing completion to supporting product builds and test. You will work closely with product engineers from multiple disciplines to ensure support of program and factory requirements.

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or related (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.


• Experience with computer aided design (CAD) software


• Experience with SolidWorks, Creo, or Fusion 360


• Experience with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.

Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Qualifications We Prefer

• Major in Mechanical Engineering or related field.


• Completion of at least 1 internship or co-op in a related field.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
