Job summary

IMEG Corporation invites applications for a Summer 2027 Mechanical Engineering Intern position in Rogers, AR. Over a 10–12 week period, you will assist in analysis, design, and oversight of mechanical systems for building projects, working with experienced engineers and consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design portions of projects and ensure compliance with codes and IMEG standards.
  • Research resources for equipment and coordinate across disciplines.
  • Document design decisions and maintain project progress notes.
  • Support client relations and project documentation for permanent records.
  • Assist with preparing addendum information and issuing project updates.
  • Conduct site observations and assist as required by the contract.

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities.

IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Rogers, AR. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry while working closely with experienced engineers and consultants. This is a paid internship with hands-on project experience.

You'll support project design progress, coordination across disciplines, and documentation while helping teams meet project budgets, goals, and client expectations. This role supports work across general MEP, building systems, and institutional projects.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards
  • Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment
  • Assist with client relations, the project design notebook, and documentation for permanent record files
  • Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
  • Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
  • Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
  • Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services as required by the contract services agreement
What You'll Bring
Required Education
  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong interest in design consulting
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred
  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
