Job summary

Torev Motors in Arlington, VA is seeking an Intern - Mechanical Engineering (Fall 2026). This role supports the design, fabrication, and testing of prototype components and high-performance electric machines, collaborating closely with the engineering team in a fast-paced startup setting.

You will help build out our lab capabilities, run structural and thermal simulations, document results, and assist in establishing fabrication and test processes.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with CAD software ( SolidWorks, NX, Fusion 360 ).
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, fabrication and testing principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and fabricate mechanical components for prototyping and testing.
• Perform structural and thermal simulations.
• Support component- and system-level testing activities.
• Document processes, methods and results for internal use.
• Assist in establishing internal fabrication and testing equipment and processes.
