Job summary

SharkNinja is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Needham, MA for May–Aug 2027. This full-time, onsite role offers hands-on development across the full product lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, and design reviews.

You'll collaborate with engineers, designers, and PMs to deliver durable, user-centered home-appliance innovations. You will gain experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks/Creo), prototyping, and data-driven design while working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a relevant undergraduate or graduate program.
• Enrollment in a related field with expected graduation within 1 year.
• Available for full-time, 40-hour weeks May–August 2027.

Responsibilities

• Brainstorm, sketch, and prototype bold ideas for next-gen Shark products.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and product managers.
• Build, test, and iterate prototypes and lab rigs to validate performance and usability.
• Analyze data from testing and feedback to inform design decisions.
• Participate in design reviews to propose practical solutions.
• Take ownership of tasks with increasing complexity and mass-production considerations.
• Assist in CAD modeling and technical documentation with experienced engineers.
• Understand the user journey to drive innovative features.
• Learn fast and contribute ideas in a startup-paced environment.
