Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. seeks an Engineering Intern-Engine Development to assist engineers on development and design tasks for our products.

Under supervision, you’ll help with testing, planning and execution of engineering projects, gaining hands-on experience with CAD, design reviews and manufacturing interfaces. You will work 15-20 hours during the school year and full time during breaks, contributing to new product development across Industrial, Commercial, Residential, and Retail power

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient with Creo Basic or equivalent CAD tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, validates, and brings new products to market.
• Provides development support for generator/product areas, CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.
• Supports product development plans including schedule and cost aspects.
• Interacts with internal teams and provides technical project support.
• Assists in testing and evaluation, ensuring safety and reliability.
• Collaborates with manufacturing partners to optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Travels to other Generac facilities as needed.
