Job summary

The Toro Company offers a 2027 Summer Internship Program in Perry, Oklahoma. May 17 to Aug 6, 2027. Interns will design solutions for underground construction equipment, support safety projects, assist in manufacturing layout, and participate in time studies and capital projects research.

We value independence, teamwork, and strong engineering fundamentals. Applicants must be in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, ABET-accredited, with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SolidEdge or Creo.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or similar field.
  • ABET-accredited program preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Design solutions or improvements for underground construction equipment and processes.
  • Support safety projects and manufacturing processes as directed.
  • Maintain plant layout for machine moves and cost reduction.
  • Evaluate manufacturing and material handling for new parts.
  • Assist in quotes, SAP routings, time studies, and CAPEX research.
  • Support Quality, Maintenance and Lean problem solving; report status.

Job description

The 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Candidates must be available to start on May 17 and participate through the duration of the program.

What Will You Do?

Designing solutions or improvements to address current and ongoing issues with underground construction equipment and/or processes.

  • Support safety projects and manufacturing processes as directed
  • Maintain plant layout for machine moves and cost reduction efforts
  • Evaluate manufacturing and material handling processes for new parts
  • Support new part quoting activities & SAP routings
  • Conduct time studies of part’s processes
  • Assist quality engineering with print tolerances & process capability studies
  • Assist in the research & development of capital projects & equipment
  • Support Quality, Maintenance and Lean operations problem solving activities
  • Frequently report verbally and in writing on project status
  • Other duties as assigned

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or similar engineering discipline preferred from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Software: AutoCAD, Solidworks, Solidedge, Creo Parametric, Microsoft suite.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude. Desire to learn new skills and maintain knowledge of new technologies.
  • Must be independent, self-motivated. Must have interpersonal skills in working with a variety of cross-functional teams.
