Job summary

Stantec in Dallas is seeking a Mechanical Intern (Co-Op) to support a senior Mechanical Engineer on building systems projects. You will assist with HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design, produce Revit BIM drawings, and conduct field assessments of existing sites.

The internship offers hands-on experience across design and field activities, with potential for a full-time position after graduation. Strong motivation and coursework in mechanical design are desirable.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
• Taking or completed mechanical design courses.
• Highly motivated and dependable student.

Responsibilities

• Participate in mechanical design of building HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems including calculations and layouts.
• Production of BIM drawings using Revit.
• Performs field work (evaluation of existing sites) as directed by senior engineer.
• Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff.
• Participates and contributes to intern design project as part of an intern team of different disciplines.

Your Opportunity

As a Mechanical Intern (Co-Op), you will work with close guidance and direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the direction of a Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include Revit design, calculations, and field work.

Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken mechanical engineering design type courses. This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to develop industry experience with an opportunity for a full-time position upon graduation.
