Job description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in our Brooklyn Park, MN Location.

All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support On-Premises Projects and Operations Group efforts in deploying quantum computers
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to improve Quantinuum’s ability to build, deploy, and/or maintain complex systems
  • Assist with mechanical design, analysis, and problem-solving for deployed systems and equipment
  • Create and maintain CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and assembly documentation
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to troubleshoot technical challenges and recommend solutions
YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree Program
  • Required: Graduating on/after 2027
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to troubleshoot complex multidisciplinary systems
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with CAD software such as Onshape
  • Hands-on experience designing, fabricating, or assembling mechanical systems in a laboratory, research, academic, or industry setting
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, and design for manufacturing principles
  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printing
  • Ability to apply engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., FEA, thermal, stress, EMI analysis) to solve technical problems
  • Programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar) for analysis

$27 - $36 an hour

Compensation & Benefits:

The pay range for this role is $27 - $36 per hour. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
