Job summary

Shure in United States (Niles, IL) seeks a Mechanical Engineering student or recent graduate to support product development. You will document components with NX CAD, assist in cataloging standard parts, and coordinate cross-functional documentation.

You’ll participate in Engineering Change Orders and validation activities, with exposure to molding and casting processes. The role emphasizes attention to detail, team collaboration, and the ability to learn quickly within a fast-paced engineering

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with mechanical CAD software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently with accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical efforts in all phases of the product development life cycle.
  • Document components using NX 2D/3D CAD for documentation of mechanical, electrical, or acoustical parts.
  • Assist Engineers in establishing catalogs of standard mechanical parts.
  • Coordinate documentation with cross-functional teams.
  • Assist with Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
  • Investigate and resolve minor production-related deviations.
  • Generate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Special Engineering Notices as needed.
  • Design components using processes like injection molding, die casting, and sheet metal forming.
  • Obtain information from a broad knowledge base to complete assignments.
  • Validate designs through analysis and testing.

Job description

  • Support mechanical efforts in all phases of the product development life cycle
  • Learn and use NX 2D and 3D CAD software to document mechanical, electrical, or acoustical components, products, or systems of limited complexity
  • Assist Mechanical Component Engineers in establishing catalogs of standard mechanical parts
  • Coordinate documentation with associates from various teams and departments
  • Assist with implementation of Engineering Change Requests
  • Investigate and resolve minor production-related deviations
  • Generate Engineering Change Orders and Special Engineering Notices as required
  • Design components using established manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, and sheet metal forming
  • Obtain information from a broad knowledge base to complete assignments
  • Validate designs through analysis and testing
Requirements
  • Working on B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with Mechanical CAD software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Keen willingness to learn new concepts and skills
  • Self-motivated, team player, detail oriented
  • Able to meet required deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, and Word
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
