Job summary

TE Connectivity is offering an internship in its GLOBAL AUTOMOTIVE BUSINESS UNIT in Middletown, PA. The role focuses on supporting development of manufacturing processes for connectors/cables and applying measurement tools to ensure quality.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree, have CAD familiarity, and show strong communication and data-analysis skills. On-site work with a collaborative, global team and career growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Pursuing BA/BS or MA/MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Internship experience preferred or completed major project.
  • Familiar with CAD package.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Data analytics aptitude and problem-solving mindset.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.; US citizenship preferred due to ITAR restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of connector/cable assembly manufacturing processes.
  • Tool and process evaluation and qualification using statistical analysis tools.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Process documentation.
  • Operate advanced measurement equipment (UTMs, digital microscopes, cameras, gages).
  • Support project documentation and cross-functional communication.

The location for this position is Middletown, PA (Street Address: 2901 Fulling Mill Road, Middletown, PA) At TE Connectivity, you'll help bring our purpose to life by creating a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future. Your role as an Intern in the Automotive Business Unit, will help us make the connections that move the world forward by:

  • Supporting the development and execution of strategic operations priorities
  • Driving projects that contribute to long term operations enablement of revenue growth
  • Developing plans to bring best-in-class operating practices into AUTO
Responsibilities

  • Support development of connector and/or cable assembly manufacturing processes
  • Tool & process evaluation and qualification using statistical analysis tools
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolution
  • Process documentation
  • Operate advanced measurement equipment including universal testing machines, digital microscopes, cameras, and precision gages
  • Support project documentation, and facilitate communication across global teams
You're the kind of person we are looking for if you:
  • Have earned a high school diploma or GED
  • Are currently enrolled in, or pursuing, a BA/BS or MA/MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, from an accredited college or university-or have equivalent work experience (gap year students may also be considered).
  • Preferably have prior internship experience or have completed a major project
  • Familiar with commercial mechanical CAD package
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
  • Like to creatively solve problems using data and analytics
  • Are intellectually curious and a self-starter
  • Are authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Due to ITAR restrictions at many of our locations, candidates with US Citizenship are preferred

Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $20.91 - 45.04/hour (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

Our internship program typically runs May thru August and gives students the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to the success of their team and build on their classroom experience. Throughout the 10-12-week program, interns will be provided with:

Timeline

TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
