Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. seeks a temporary, full-time engineering intern to join our Food & Beverage group in Bloomington, MN, starting May/June 2027 and finishing August/September 2027.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical engineering coursework and exposure to design or construction, HVAC concepts, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Travel to job sites may be required.

• Four semesters of mechanical engineering coursework.
• Mechanical design coursework in thermodynamics, refrigeration, or HVAC.
• Experience in design or construction industry.
• Familiarity with HVAC load fundamentals.

Responsibilities

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a temporary, full-time engineering intern to join our Food & Beverage group starting in May/June 2027 and ending in August/September 2027.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting engineers with mechanical design for large-scale food and beverage facilities
• Performing design calculations; developing engineering design tools
• Assisting with project report preparation
• Performing field inspections
• Additional duties as assigned

Some travel to job sites may be required.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• Four semesters of college-level coursework in mechanical engineering
• Mechanical design coursework in thermodynamics, refrigeration, and/or HVAC
• Experience in the design or construction industry
• Experience with HVAC load fundamentals
• Experience with Microsoft Office software

Hourly Rate Range: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
