Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a temporary, full-time engineering intern to join our Food & Beverage group starting May/June 2026 and ending August/September 2026.

You will assist engineers with mechanical design for large-scale food and beverage facilities, perform design calculations, develop engineering tools, and help prepare project reports. The ideal candidate has four semesters of mechanical engineering coursework, HVAC-related coursework, and experience in design or construction, with

Qualifications

• Four semesters of college-level coursework in mechanical engineering.
• Mechanical design coursework in thermodynamics, refrigeration, and/or HVAC.
• Experience in the design or construction industry.
• Experience with HVAC load fundamentals.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Assisting engineers with mechanical design for large-scale food and beverage facilities.
• Performing design calculations; developing engineering design tools.
• Assisting with project report preparation.
• Performing field inspections.
• Some travel to job sites may be required.
• Additional duties as assigned.
