Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op in Eden Prairie, MN, for January 2027 through August 2027. This full-time, on-site role partners with a lead mechanical engineer to support new product development, CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, and development tasks.

You will gain hands-on experience applying classroom concepts to real-world projects, build CAD drawings, fabricate prototypes with 3D printing and machining, and collaborate across disciplines to meet development milestones

Qualifications

Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Junior or senior standing preferred.
Ability to work full-time on-site in Eden Prairie, MN January–August 2027.
Strong interest in product design, development, testing, and problem solving.

Responsibilities

Partner with a lead mechanical engineer to support new product development and ongoing improvements.
Create CAD models and engineering drawings to support development activities.
Build and evaluate prototypes using 3D printing and machining technologies.
Execute prototype testing to evaluate performance, durability, and environmental requirements.
Apply engineering principles learned in coursework to practical product development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet development milestones.
