Job summary

Emerson invites engineering students to join a Software Engineering Co-op in Eden Prairie, MN, from June to December 2027. You will work 40 hours weekly, collaborating with software architects and engineers on meaningful product development initiatives.

You will apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, gain exposure to AI initiatives, and build hands-on software engineering skills while exploring various engineering disciplines before graduating.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Junior or senior standing preferred; sophomore students will also be considered.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) in Eden Prairie, MN from June 2027 through December 2027.
• Interest in software development, product engineering, testing, automation, and emerging technologies.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software architects and engineers to develop software utilities, proof‑of‑concept applications, automated testing solutions, and product development tools.
• Work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to support development projects and technical initiatives.
• Apply technical concepts learned through academic coursework to real‑world engineering projects.
• Explore emerging technologies and contribute to AI initiatives by utilizing modern tools and integrating AI services into software solutions.
