Job summary

Audubon is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Associate I to join our Houston, TX Fabrication Office. The role involves basic and routine mechanical engineering tasks for designing equipment, components, structures or systems, under supervision.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) with ABET accreditation and an EIT designation preferred. Responsibilities include vendor document handling, basic sketches, calculations, and HSSE compliance in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• ABET-accredited program preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather and record information from vendor drawings, catalogs, and technical manuals to develop specifications.
• Under direct supervision, prepare basic specifications detailing performance requirements and component needs.
• Prepare basic sketches and perform basic engineering calculations.
• Review vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications.
• Interact with clients, subcontractors, vendors and other consultants.
• Track and manage schedule and budget for assigned projects.
• Adhere to quality standards and engineering checking procedures.
• Comply with HSSE standards and regulations.
• Participate in hazard identification and report unsafe acts or conditions.
