Job summary

Audubon is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineering Associate I to join our Metairie, LA office. The role involves performing basic mechanical engineering tasks related to designing equipment, components, structures, or systems.

Under supervision, you will gather vendor information, prepare basic specifications, sketches, and calculations, and review drawings for compliance. You will collaborate with clients and vendors, track schedules and budgets, and uphold HSSE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• ABET Accredited Institution preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
• Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems.
• Ability to comprehend instructions and request clarification as necessary.
• Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and records information from vendor drawings, catalogs, and manuals for specifications.
• Under supervision, prepares basic specifications detailing performance, components, design codes.
• Prepares basic sketches and performs basic engineering calculations.
• Reviews vendor drawings for compliance with project specs.
• Interacts with clients, subcontractors, vendors and consultants.
• Tracks and maintains schedule and budget for projects.
• Adheres to quality standards and engineering checking procedures.
• Complies with HSSE standards and regulations.
• Participates in hazard identification and reports unsafe acts or conditions.
