Job summary

Drone.vet is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to sensor and hardware integration on unmanned aircraft systems. You will handle mechanical design, hardware testing, and user support to ensure successful deployment of our UAS platforms.

Responsibilities include planning sensor integrations, maintaining existing systems, and supporting UAS flight testing, with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Proficiency in CAD; 1+ year experience; PTC Creo preferred.
• FAA Part 107 certification within 3 months of employment.
• UAS/drones platform experience preferred.
• Experience with Pixhawk autopilots (PX4/ArduPilot).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret requirements independently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent troubleshooting and attention to detail.
• Highly motivated and collaborative team player.
• Prior industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of components for sensors and hardware.
• Plan and execute sensor/hardware integrations for new UAS platforms.

• Conduct UAS flight testing.
• Design and document wire harnesses; BOMs.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings and docs.
• Prepare internal and user-facing documentation.

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the integration of sensors and hardware onto UAS platforms. This role involves mechanical design, hardware testing, and user support to ensure successful deployment and operation of our systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
• Proficient in CAD (minimum of 1 year experience, PTC Creo preferred)
• FAA Part 107 certification acquired within three months of employment
• Experience with UAS (drones) platforms (preferred)
• Experience with Pixhawk autopilots (PX4 & Ardupilot)
