Job summary

HII Unmanned Systems, a leader in autonomous underwater and surface vehicles, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to develop and integrate advanced capabilities for our unmanned systems. You will participate in product lifecycle analysis and manage technical data packages for new and existing designs.

Qualifications

• Level 1: 0 years experience with Bachelor's in related field.
• Level 2: 2 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; or 0 years experience with Master's in related field.
• Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor's; 3 years relevant with Master's; or 0 years with PhD/JD in related field.
• Level 4: 9 years relevant experience with Bachelor's; 7 years with Master's; or 4 years with PhD/JD in related field.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support both new development and manufacturing efforts in mechanical design and implementations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in material selection for underwater applications with structural analysis, electronic packing, and CAD modeling (SolidWorks).
• Research, develop, plan designs mechanical and electromechanical products for underwater applications.
• Coordinate activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.
• Contribute to the Configuration Management process
• Ensure seamless transition from engineering design to manufacturing.
• Build prototypes and tests fixtures for new design or to update existing designs and products.
• Communicate and support the efforts for each department with mechanical designs and implementations.
• Other duties as assigned.
