Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• MIL-STD-810 testing experience and documentation.
• Experience with undersea system design and electronics packaging for harsh environments.
• Proficiency with CAD/FEA tools for mechanical design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Implement mechanical design tasks including parts selection, CAD modeling, and testing equipment design for undersea systems.
• Ensure tasks meet technical and schedule requirements and propose alternatives as needed.
• Provide technical status forecasts and recommend changes to meet objectives.
• Prepare tradeoff models and evaluation candidates.
• Conduct design analyses, interface design, prototypes, and R&D test tools.
• Support system test and evaluation with test plans and procedures.
• Prepare engineering drawings and documentation.
• Direct assembly/ fabrication activities and ensure safety practices per quality system.
• Develop manufacturability analyses and ensure conformance to customer specifications.
