Job summary

Alumni Ventures is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their Hardware Engineering team in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. This role will focus on mechanical design and system integration for uncrewed surface vessels. The ideal candidate should possess strong proficiency in SolidWorks and have experience in mechanical design and collaboration with electrical engineers.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and system integration.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical CAD modeling and drafting.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, materials, tolerances, and structural design.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the mechanical design and integration of new systems.
• Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Support electrical integration by defining mechanical interfaces.
• Participate in hardware builds and testing to validate mechanical designs.
