Job description

Overview

Mechanical Engineer (Thermal Chilled Water Systems) role at Vertiv. The Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the design of mechanical parts and assemblies and will work in a cross-functional development group. This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Westerville, OH - Polaris location.

Responsibilities
  • Punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Contribute to design projects and handle simple, tightly scoped design tasks with guidance.
  • Create 3-Dimensional models using 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) package.
  • Create and revise drawings and bill of materials.
  • Interact with employees, outside vendors and suppliers as needed.
  • Build prototypes to support the development of product design.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or directly related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required with an Associate degree; Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable engineering modeling tools.
  • Technical knowledge of content primarily related to mechanical design.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic team.
