Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC systems for education, healthcare, and government projects. You’ll work with architects, engineers, and owners to develop drawings, specs, and construction support, and help ensure code-compliant, energy-efficient designs.

Requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, 3+ years of HVAC design, EIT, and proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, IES VE, Navisworks and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (or related field).
• 3+ years of experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems.
• EIT certification is preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, IES VE, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE, FGI standards, and energy modeling principles.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems from concept through construction.
• Develop energy-efficient solutions that meet client expectations.
• Collaborate on projects from start to finish, including site visits, drawings, specs, and construction support.
• Work with architects, engineers, and owners to define goals and resolve challenges.
• Review documents and submittals to ensure code compliance and design integrity.
• Support performance contracting projects delivering energy savings.
• Stay current with sustainable design practices (LEED/Green Globes).
