Job summary

CHAOS Industries in El Segundo, CA seeks a Mechanical Engineer – Structures to lead mechanical integration of ruggedized electronics and mission systems into ground- and sea-mobile platforms for aerospace and defense. You will own design of enclosures, frames, and mechanisms for varying platform requirements.

The role spans from concept to sustainment, requiring hands-on CAD and cross-disciplinary coordination, with a clearance-eligible profile and a strong background in rugged hardware design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0-3 years of experience in platform-level mechanical design and system integration for aerospace/defense.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on prototyping and mechanical integration of mission systems into ground- and sea-mobile platforms.
• Architect and design mechanical structures, frames, mounts, enclosures, and mechanisms under shock, vibration, and environmental constraints.
• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and ICDs for multi-disciplinary system integration.
• Perform basic structural and thermal analyses and requirements allocations to meet MIL standards and customer needs.
• Lead system-level integration, qualification, and acceptance activities, including installation oversight and fit-checks.
