Job summary

NSB Omega is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support static equipment reliability and integrity at our Quintana, TX client site. You will address vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and piping, coordinating with operations and external vendors to solve issues and improve asset performance.

The ideal candidate has 3–10 years of experience, strong problem-solving skills, and familiarity with ASME/API/TEMA standards.

Qualifications

• 3-10 years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial environments.
• Experience with static equipment: vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, piping.
• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, API 510/570/653/660 and TEMA.
• Ability to read P&IDs, drawings, inspection reports.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Commitment to safe work practices and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support for static equipment including vessels, tanks, heat exchangers and piping.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action for damage, leaks, corrosion and vibration.
• Review inspection reports and data to support repair, monitoring or continued-service decisions.
• Assist with pipe stress, thermal growth, and vibration evaluations with specialists as needed.
• Support air-cooled heat exchanger reliability, including inspections and repair planning.
• Develop and review scopes, repair plans, and MT&C documentation for static equipment work.
• Participate in field walkdowns, inspections, turnarounds, and vendor coordination.
• Apply ASME, API, and TEMA standards to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, Reliability, Projects, and contractors.
